Product Description

Aviva Whole House Water Filtration

Treats all water used for drinking, cooking, bathing, showering, laundry etc. throughout your entire property.

Granular activated carbon - removes bad taste and odour producing bottle quality water.

Ideal for people suffering from skin complaints

- the modern equivalent of bathing in asses milk!

GRANULAR ACTIVATED CARBON - WHAT IS IT?

Technically, Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) is a form of charcoal which has undergone

treatment by being subjected to high temperatures and steam in the absence of oxygen. This

process produces extremely porous, small granules which have a surface area on which

organic molecules can “cling”, and are thereby “adsorbed”. The surface area per granule is

extremely high, the greater the surface area of the sponge like granules, the greater the

capacity to “adsorb”. It is this high porosity and surface area which gives GAC its unique

adsorptive properties.

Aviva Whole House Water Filters - HOW DO THEY WORK?

GAC has the capacity to remove or reduce many organic chemicals, most halogenated

organic compounds like chlorine, by-products of chlorination such as chloroform, and various

odours and tastes. GAC also has the distinct advantage of tolerating changes in water quality

without reduction in effectiveness.

GAC provides treatment with great efficiency of removal, and while a wide variety of filters are

made of GAC, not all will perform equally. GAC works best when water passes through a large mass of it slowly. It is for this reason a

vertical design is used. When water passes through it, it progressively contacts cleaner and

cleaner carbon, “polishing” the water.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!

Many customers who purchase less expensive carbon water filters become quickly

dissatisfied with their units when they notice unpleasant odours and large particles of unusual

debris present in their filtered water. This is due to the fact that NON-BACTERIOSTATIC

G.A.C CAN ACTUALLY BREED BACTERIA AND OTHER ORGANISMS. In most cases,

these bacteria are not the kind that can cause serious illness, but in large doses they can

cause intestinal upsets. To combat this, we use filters that use the unique method of

bonding silver to the surface of the carbon. Silver is well known in the medical field as one

of the oldest and most effective bactericides, or bacteria killing agents. By bonding silver to

GAC the carbon no longer furnishes bacteria with an ideal breeding ground.

(Please note: these filters do have a LIMITED LIFESPAN, after which the silver loses its ability to inhibit bacterial

growth, therefore the filter will need renewing on a periodic basis.)
