Product Description
The hard water filter option uses an ion exchange resin, which absorbs chemicals and certain minerals found in your tap water, specifically intended in this application to reduce fluoride and calcium.
The water is thereby freed of harmful chemicals, and has a reduced amount of total dissolved solids (TDS) thus making the water “softer”
Please be aware that the ion exchange technology absorbs fluoride until it reaches the point where it cannot hold any more, whereupon it starts to release fluoride back into the water. We therefore recommend changing the filter every 6 months. (The soft water filter is less able to remove fluoride).
If you notice a reduction in the flow rate leading up to the required filter change date, it is possible to remove the filter and clean the ceramic membrane using the cleansing sheet included. This will remove sediment accumulated from the filtration process to restore the water flow.
